Discover: Hotels in DC

As a first-time mama, one of my fears with my little is taking her on a flight. Especially since she has a very active and very curious personality. For us, road trips are the perfect way for us to travel, go on adventures, and not have to worry about limitations. It gives us flexibility, rest stops as needed, and she gets to be comfortable and calm. It also makes packing MUCH easier, as I don’t have to worry about luggage fees, stroller issues, etc.

Washington DC is a highly suggested road trip for moms with tots, and while most of the itinerary is centered around kid-friendly activities, there are plenty of ways to make sure mom feels included and taken care of.

So let’s explore some hotels that provide comfort and little luxuries for mom!

  1. The Ven at Embassy Row, Washington DC boasts a beautiful lobby view and entrance and is surrounded by historic mansions and Dupont Circle. Inside the Ven is a stunning lobby with spacious seating and a clean modern look, a lovely breakfast bar and a rooftop pool. Additionally, there is a game room and fitness room, making the Ven a great option for flexibility and some luxury.

  2. Classic and luxurious is the Melrose Hotel in Georgetown. A 2024 TripAdvisor’s Travelers’ Choice Hotel makes this location a great place to stay. Costs slightly less than the Ven, but still has its own bar and restaurant for in-hotel dining. Nestled close to the Lincoln Memorial and Washington Monument, there’s plenty to do and see!

  3. For a more comfort, cozy experience, book your stay at Lyle in Washington DC. The atmosphere at Lyle boasts a more family-oriented, home away from home and a calming, relaxing atmosphere.
